Live Report: My Melody Enchanted Forest Christmas Exhibition at tmtplaza

Hong Kong’s largest shopping mall in the Northwest New Territories, tmtplaza, teamed up with Sanrio to celebrate the Christmas Season with a unique My Melody’s Enchanted Forest theme.

In case you are not familiar with the My Melody character: My Melody is a little girl rabbit wearing a red or pink hood and is very popular not only here in Hong Kong, but in whole Asia.

Since this year is the 40th anniversary of Hello Kitty, Hong Kong has a lot of exhibitions related with Sanrio’s characters, such as Pom Pom Purin Exhibition in MCP.

tmtplaza shopping mall is connected with V City, Trend Plaza as well as K-Point shopping malls. You may easily get lost in the shopping malls. When you arrive at the Tuen Mun tmtplaza, try to look for the Main Atrium on the 1/F where My Melody and her friends are everywhere.

There are big banners and posters hanging from the ceiling greeting every holiday shopper and My Melody and her friends can be spotted throughout the mall.

The My Melody’s Enchanted Forest themed Christmas Exhibition felt a little bit like being in the Puroland version of My Melody. No matter where you look, you will encounter the typical My Melody pink and even the Christmas trees are held in the stylish pink tone.

When you enter this special Christmas installation, you will immediately stand in front My Melody’s house. The cute little rabbit girl is at the center of the stage and is turning like on a music box. On the left side is one of her friends, the cute blue elephant wearing a Santa hat. While on the right side there is a pink sheep greeting you.

There is a huge My Melody shaped-balloon.

There is a special “My Melody 40th Anniversary Exhibition” displaying several products and limited edition items related with this popular Sanrio character. In fact, this is the first Christmas theme installation/exhibition with the My Melody character in Hong Kong (mainly due that next year is My Melody’s 40th Anniversary).
