Converted from an hundred year old fort, the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence displays “600 years of coastal defence” of Hong Kong. Military memorabilia such as canons, tanks and other military vehicles are displayed at the entrance of the museum. Besides the military memorabilia, the area of 34200 square meters features several galleries and exhibitions devoted to Hong Kong’s main historic periods and covers e.g. the Opium Wars, the Japanese occupation or the British Periods. An historical trails leads around the museum and visitors can experience hidden canons,ammunition stores or torpedo halls.

How to Get to Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence:
The most convenient way is to take MTR subway and get off at Shau Kei Wan station. Then take Exit B2 and follow the road signs towards the museum along Shau Kei Wan Main Street East. It takes apron. 15 minutes walk.
