The annual Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival & International Dragon Boat Races 2013 will be held at the East Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront Promenade at Victoria Harbour from June 21 to 23, 2013. The Hong Kong Dragon International Dragon Boat Races are along with the Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships one of the top events when it comes to Dragon Boat Races.

Last year, this special event drew in over 400,000 spectators who transformed the Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront Promenade into a big party celebrating not only the over 5,000 athletes from over 20 countries, but also their boats and races.

2013 CCB (Asia) Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races

The 2013 China Construction Bank (CCB Asia) Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races (IDBR 2013) have a long history and started 37 years ago as a humble even when Hong Kong fishermen organized an international dragon boat event. In 1976, only ten teams (9 locals and one foreign team from Japan) participated in the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races. Since its humble beginnings the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races grew rapidly over the years, featuring last year almost 200 teams with over 3,000 paddlers from 12 countries around the world. The CCB (Asia) Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races are very special since you can see both the Standard Dragon Boat as well as the Small Dragon Boat Races. Races will start close to the famous and internationally well-known InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong Hotel and finish near the Wing On Plaza. Be sure to mark down this legendary event where you can enjoy spectacular modern dragon boat racing action with the stunning Hong Kong skyline as a backdrop.

2013 San Miguel BeerFest

Spectators and beer lovers can wind down from the Dragon Boat Race action at the 2013 San Miguel Beerfest. Located just right next to all the racing action, visitors can watch the thrilling dragon boat races, enjoy some of Asia’s most popular bands and singers performing live, groove to the latest tunes when Dj’s spin their turntables or participate in games and competitions while enjoying fantastic snacks and cool fresh beer at the beer and food booths. Be sure to check out the “San Miguel Dry Land Dragon Boat Challenge” – the first ever dry land dragon boat races in Hong Kong!
