The International Museum Day 2013 is coming up on May 18 and 19, 2013. Museums around the world host the International Museum Day offering free admission to their institutions with the aim of raising public awareness of the roles and functions of museums in the society. This year’s theme is “Museums (Memory + Creativity) = Social Change ”.
Hong Kong’s Museums are participating in this unique event since 2001 and we highly recommend marking down these two days in your calendar. On May 18th and 19th, 2013 admission to most of Hong Kong’s Museums are free of charge. Yes, you read right. There are no entry fees for a total of 39 different museums, cultural institutions and local heritage venues throughout Hong Kong.
