The Iyara Day Spa (formerly known as Iyara Beauty Concepts) is off the beaten tracks in Hong Kong and also featured in numerous local magazines and newspapers still treated as an insider tip. The beauty salon was established in 2008 and aims to break the boundaries of a typical and conventional beauty shop. The Iyara Day Spa added currently another outlet at the Mid-Levels to its two existing stores in Hong Kong (Central and Wan Chai) and can be regarded as a one-stop-solution for the busy businesswoman, moms or frequent travellers. The beauty salon caters the needs of almost everyone and offers everything from waxing, nails, facials, body treatments and massages. The Iyara Day Spa is rather small, but has a warm and cozy feeling to it. Interiors are nicely decorated, low lights, candles and orchid transfers the spa into a quiet and tranquil place despite being just a few steps away from Hong Kong’s busiest streets. Just seconds after you step in you will be greeted with a Lemongrass tea (btw…if you come in after 5 pm you will be treated a glass of red or white wine). In a relaxed mood you can chose from the wide variety of treatments. We highly recommend trying the Iyara Spa Manicure or Iyara Spa Pedicure (HK$ 250-350), which can be booked single or additional to any other package and is one of the best in town. If you opt more for a massage we would recommend the 90 minutes Signature Massage for HK$ 750 where you have the options to choose from Swedish, Thai or deep-tissue massage techniques. Also try the sea-salt scrub or the girly nail-lounge.

Insider Tips:

Take a closer look at the Spa Treatment Sessions. The two and half hour packages include e.g. 60 minutes massage plus manicure and (!) pedicure treatments for a good and fair value. The only drawback is that these packages are currently only available in the Wan Chai outlet. In addition, it is a good idea to have a look at current promotions and value packages deals. Some of the deals can save you up to 20-30%!

Last but not least, try to avoid the peak hours between 3 to 6 pm on weekends and public holidays to make the most of your relaxing spa day.
