Kwun Tong (观塘) is one of the major industrial areas in Hong Kong and has been known as Hong Kong’s home to many factories and warehouses. Since this area is dedicated to Hong Kong’s manufacturing sector and it is way off the beaten tourist tracks, it is obvious that hardly any tourist would visit this industrial area.
However, Kwun Tong can be worth a visit and we are not referring to commemorate the old Kai Tak Airport (may be some of you still remember the Checkerboard approach) which is not too far away. Kwun Tong silently established a small area of Factory Outlet Stores.
The Kwun Tong Factory Outlet Stores are hardly known by the public and they are usually not covered by any guide books. When you enter the small alley between the Camel Paint Buildings you will notice several Factory Outlet Stores.
What can you find in Kwun Tong Factory Outlet?
There a collection of many factory outlet stores of many famous brands, such as :
Initial Factory Outlet Store
(which most likely is unknown brand to most foreign visitors, but the brand has several fashion, lifestyle, furniture, home decor and café stores throughout Hong Kong and Mainland China)
Adidas Factory Outlet Store
Nike Factory Outlet Store
(Please note when we visited the Kwun Tong Nike Factory Outlet Store in March 2012 it was closed due to renovation)
New Balance Factory Outlet Store
(you also can find other sport and lifestyle brands here including Converse)

In case you are wondering what is in the other buildings surrounding the Camel Paint Building: there are several distributors, warehouses, factories. Some places have been selling products to consumers in the past (mainly clothes).
