Maritime Square

Maritime Square shopping mall is located in Tsing Yi. The mall is directly above the MTR Tsing Yi station and conveniently located at the interchange station of the Airport Express Line and Tung Chung line. Maritime Square is just one station away from the Hong Kong International Airport and a good option if you just have a few hours in Hong Kong and would like to do some shopping. Also, some of the major tourists’ attractions are lying on the way or are not too far away such as the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car, Big Buddha, Tsing Ma Bridge or Hong Kong Disneyland. With a little planning you are able to combine some must-see sightseeing attractions and shopping fun in one day.

Maritime Square has more than 140 shops, restaurants and retail stores on more than 500,000 square feet. The shopping mall is quite unique since its interior is maritime and ocean-themed. The four floors are shaped like ship-balconies and shoppers will feel like if they are on a big cruise ship. The shopping mall features even some aquariums with fishes.

Maritime Square shopping mall could be considered a mid-ranged shopping mall. Although, the shopping mall is close by major sigh-seeing attractions, this mall is off the beaten tourist’s tracks and not well-known. However, Maritime Square features a good selection of different stores from various product categories such as jewelry/watches, fashion/sports (e.g. Levi’s, Esprit, i.t., Bossini, Converse, Superdry, Marks&Spencer, Zara and many more), electronics, music, books, cosmetics (Crabtree&Evelyn, Clinique, The Body Shop, Laneige, Bioderma and others) as well as a movie theater, restaurants and grocery stores (Taste supermarket).

If you combine sightseeing and shopping, Maritime Square might be a good option to grab some food. Currently, there are over 25 different restaurants including McDonalds, KFC, Starbucks, Café de Coral, Saint’s Alp Teahouse or the Spaghetti House. Insider tip: if you would like to try some Dim Sum you can try the restaurant Tao Heung on the ground floor.

By MTR: Take MTR to Tsing Yi station and Tsing Yi station is directly connected to the mall by escalators. There is no chance of missing the shopping action. Expect an approx. travel time of 25 minutes from TST and about HK$ 8 fare for a single ticket. Expect approx. travel time of 22 minutes from Central and to pay HK$ 12 for a single ride ticket.
