Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car increases ticket prices in 2017 again. As one of Hong Kong’s most popular sightseeing attractions, they just announced to increase their admission fee in 2017. It is 6th time price raising since 2011.

The new price will be effective from 1st of September 2017 onwards. The prices for the Standard Cabin will increase by over 12.3%.

After Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car increases ticket prices in 2017, the ticket prices in different categories will have different changes.

The adjusted ticket prices for Standard Cabin

– Round-Trip Ticket Prices :

  • Adult round-trip new prices will be HK$ 210 (was HK$ 185, increased HK$ 25);
  • Children (aged 3 – 11) round-trip new price will be HK$ 100 (was HK$ 95, increased HK$ 5);
  • Seniors (above 65, Hong Kong residents only) round-trip new price will be HK$ 140 (was HK$ 130, increased HK$ 10);

– Single-Trip Ticket Prices :

  • Adult single-trip’ new prices will be HK$ 145 (was HK$ 135, increased HK$ 10);
  • Children (aged 3 – 11) single-trip’ new price will be HK$ 70 (was HK$ 65, increased HK$ 5);
  • Seniors (above 65, Hong Kong residents only) single-trip’ new price will be HK$ 95 (was HK$ 90, increased HK$ 5);

The adjusted ticket prices for Crystal Cabin

– Round-Trip Ticket Prices :

  • Adult round-trip new prices will be HK$ 290 (was HK$ 255, increased HK$ 35);
  • Children (aged 3 – 11) round-trip new price will be HK$ 180 (was HK$ 175, increased HK$ 5);
  • Seniors (above 65, Hong Kong residents only) round-trip new price will be HK$ 220 (was HK$ 205, increased HK$ 15);

– Single-Trip Ticket Prices :

  • Adult single-trip’ new prices will be HK$ 200 (was HK$ 180, increased HK$ 20);
  • Children (aged 3 – 11) single-trip’ new price will be HK$ 130 (was HK$ 125, increased HK$ 5);
  • Seniors (above 65, Hong Kong residents only) single-trip’ new price will be HK$ 150 (was HK$ 145, increased HK$ 5);

Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car increases ticket prices tremendously in the past years. It’s hard to believe that in 2011 the prices were almost only half of today. For instance, the prices for adult round trip were only HK$ 125 (Standard Cabin) and HK$ 188 (Crystal Cabin), which are rised to HK$ 210 and HK$ 290 now.

Price raising of 360 Fun Pass or One-Price-For-All-360-Fun-Pass

The “360 Fun Pass” was a new promotion introduced since January 2016. It includes a round trip cable car (Standard or Crystal Cabin) and admission to all attractions at the Ngong Ping Village including Stage 360, Motion 360 and Walking with Buddha.

The price changes of “360 Fun Pass” are as follows:

  • Adult ticket changes to HK$290/370 (was HK$255/325, Standard/Crystal Cabin);
  • Child ticket changes to HK$180/260 (was HK$170/245, Standard/Crystal Cabin);
  • Senior ticket changes to HK$220/300 (was HK$200/275, Standard/Crystal Cabin);

Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car increases ticket prices in past years

It is for sure not Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car’s first price increasing. From 2011, Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car increases ticket prices in every December.

Usually, Ngong Ping 360 always launches a set of special promotions as compensation due to the price increasing. Most of times these promotions are for locals only. Here are the previous price raising and promotions for those who are interested in knowning the price changes during the last several years.

Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car announced new ticket prices starting from the 1st of January 2016 again. On the same time, they also introduce a new One-Price-For-All-360-Fun-Pass promotion. The price for found-trip Crystal Cabin price remained unchanged . The prices for the Standard Cabin increased by over 10%.

  • – Prices for adult Standard Cabin new prices changed to HK$ 185 and HK$ 135 (was HK$ 165 and HK$ 115, round trip and single trip);
  • – Price for children Standard Cabin new prices changed to HK$ 95 and HK$ 60 (was HK$ 85 and HK$ 60, round trip and single trip);

    – The promotion period for Hong Kong Attraction Fun Deals extended to 31st of January 2016. Upon presenting the ticket stub of one of the six attractions, guests can enjoy 10% ticket discount.

    Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car announced the fare increase from December 1, 2014. Visitors who would like to take the scenic cable car ride needed to prepare to dig deeper in their wallets. On average ticket prices increased around 11% resulting at the following new pricing structure:

    – The round-trip cable car ticket (Adult) in the standard cabin was priced at HK$ 165 (was HK$ 150);

    In addition, the prices of the Ngong Ping Stage Pass, Ngong Ping Walk n Motion Pass as well as the 360 Sky-Land-Sea Day Pass were adjusted as well. Prices for an adult standard cabin changed to HK$ 245 (was HK$ 225) and for the crystal cabin were HK$ 315 (was HK$ 310).

    New promotions to compensate for price increases in 2014-2015

    Effective from December 1, 2014, Hong Kong residents (with a valid HKID card) could enjoy several promotions:

    – one free Ngong Ping Cable Car standard cabin round-trip on their birthday;
    – An instant 10% discount on ticket prices for on-site purchases made at Tung Chung and Ngong Ping Terminals (until June 30, 2015);
    – An additional 10% discount coupon to use for the next visit between July 1 and December 31, 2015.

    Current annual pass holders could purchase a 360 Annual Pass for HK$ 450 until February 15, 2015 and would receive one complimentary Stage 360 ticket.

    Ngong ping 360 announced another fare increase starting from December 1, 2013 onwards. Visitors had to pay higher prices since then.

    New prices for an adult round-trip cable car ticket in the standard cabin increased to HK$ 150 (was HK$ 135). Children round-trip tickets in the standard cabin were about 50% of the ticket price and increased to HK$ 75 (was HK$ 68) while round-trip tickets for seniors changed to HK$ 105 (was HK$ 98). Visitors who would like to take one of the crystal cabins had to add a premium of HK$ 60 (single-trip)/ HK$ 85 (round-trip) to the standard ticket prices.

    New promotion introduced for compensating Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car increases ticket prices

    New promotions included an instant 10% discount on ticket prices for on-site purchases made at Ngong ping 360 terminals as well as one free Ngong Ping 360 Standard Cabin round-trip ticket for Hong Kong residents visiting Ngong Ping 360 on their birthday.

    In addition, Ngong Ping 360 launches the popular “360 Annual Pass” (which allowed the pass holders to enjoy unlimited rides in a Standrad Cabin for an entire year) year round. Starting from December 1, 2013 Hong Kong residents could purchase the brand new “360 Annual Pass” any time for HK$ 450 (holders of the previous Year of the Snake, Year of the Dragon, Year of the Rabbit and Year of the Tiger Pass can upgrade their pass for HK$ 390) and four “360 Annual Passes” for HK$ 1,620.

    From December 7th, 2012, visitors who would like to take the scenic cable car had to prepared to pay higher prices.

    New prices for an adult round-trip cable car ticket in the standard cabin raised to HK$ 135 (was HK$ 125). Children round-trip tickets in the standard cabin were about 50% of the adult ticket price and adjusted to HK$ 94 (was HK$ 86). Visitors who would like to take one of the crystal cabins had to pay an extra of a premium of HK$ 55 (single-trip)/HK$ 78 (round-trip) to the standard ticket prices. Standard tickets for seniors remained unchanged.

    2012 compensation promotion due to Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car increases ticket prices

    This year, the special offers included an instant 10% discount on ticket prices (from December 7th, 2012 to June 30th, 2013), free ride on the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car standard cabin on their birthday in 2013, free child travels during the summer months July and August when purchasing an adult ticket. Last but not least, a 50% discount for local seniors during weekdays in May and June 2013.

    More promotions after Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car increases ticket prices

    While there were new prices for the cable car, there was also a new promotion. 2011 December Ngong Ping 360 introduced a new “One-way Crystal Cabin and one-way Standard Cabin” ticket. If the visitors purchased this ticket set, they were able to save 10% of the normal ticket price. They could enjoy the cable car ride once with a Crystal Cabin and once with the Standard Cabin. Original ticket prices were HK$ 153 (adult), HK$ 96 (child) and HK$ 129 (seniors). After the discount, adults had to pay HK$ 138, kids HK$ 86 and seniors HK$ 116 respectively.
