Finally, the news announced that Ngong Ping Cable Car reopens and resumes service on June 5, 2017. The popular Hong Kong sightseeing attraction had been closed for rope replacement from the beginning of this year (January 9, 2017). The Rope Replacement Project and system testing finally have been completed. The cable car is in full operation again.
In case you plan to visit Big Buddha and would like to take the Cable Car, be prepared that the operating hours of the Ngong Ping 360 Cable will be limited the first few days after resuming service. The limited operation hours are necessary to ensure cable car service stability as well as for night inspection and maintenance work. Service hours will be 10:00am to 5:00pm during June 5 to 11, 2017. The normal cable cars service hours will resume back from June 12, 2017.
In order to celebrate its re-opening as well as 10th Anniversary of operation, Ngong Ping 360 is offering a special promotion from now until December 31, 2017. Children born between September 18, 2006 and September 17, 2007 can enjoy unlimited free rides in the standard cabin while 2 adults can enjoy 10%off on regular priced cable car tickets. Unfortunately, this special promotion is only available if you hold a valid HKID card.
However, you don’t need to be upset. There are still ways to save on ticket prices. Check out our related article on where to get cheap and discounted tickets for the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car ride.
