Snoopy’s World is a small theme park located at the New Town Plaza Shopping Mall in Sha Tin (New Territories). Unfortunately, Snoopy’s World is less known to the average Hong Kong visitors and many people are not even aware that there is another kid’s attraction in Hong Kong aside Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park Hong Kong.

Opened in 2000, Snoopy’s World (or sometimes also referred to as Snoopyland) is situated on the third floor of the Sha Tin New Town Plaza Shopping Mall where was used to be two tennis courts but not frequently used. Snoopy’s World is the first one of its kind to open in Asia and is divided into six small zones of “amusements”. For all of you who are already on a shopping trip in the New Town Plaza Shopping Mall in Sha Tin and also enjoy Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the Peanuts this little theme park might be worth to take a look and break from shopping.

Visitors can enter Snoopy’s World through the Doghouse Entry. The Doghouse Entry is actually Snoopy’s House and Snoopy is leisurely enjoying the sunshine on the roof. This snoopy figure is 5.5 meter long and 3.3 meter tall and it is the biggest Snoopy figure in the world that you can find it from inside of New Town Plaza shopping mall. Besides, visitors can have a look how the famous beagle lives. Inside Charlie is sitting on a sofa watching TV and on another side Lucy is cooking something delicious. Don’t be too excited and try to control yourself after passing through the Doghouse Entry, cos you will find you are surrounded by a lot cute cartoon figures and don’t know where to start.

Just behind Snoopy’s home is a typical American school bus which actually represents the second amusement zone called “School Plaza: Peanuts Academy”. Life-size figures of Sally, Charlie Brown and Linus are right in front of the iconic yellow school bus and it seems that they are just waiting to take some great pictures with them. Don’t miss the opportunity to go inside the bus as well.

Amusement Zone 3 of Snoopy’s World is called the “Boating Canal: Canoe Ride”. In a matter of fact, this is the only ride at Snoopy’s World and basically just interesting if you have young kids. Although, admission to Snoopy’s World is free you have to fulfill some requirements in order to take the Canoe Ride. You have to produce a receipt over a certain amount for a purchase from any of the shops in the New Town Plaza. There are certain limitations and exceptions so if you are interested to take your kid for on the Canoe Ride with Charlie Brown and his friends we highly advise you to double-check with the most updated regulations and requirements displayed at the entrance of Snoopy’s World. The Canoe Ride takes approx. 3 minutes. Last but not least some advice: particular at weekends cues for the Canoe Ride can be quite long and since the ride is a rather slow one you should either try to do it at a weekday or bring enough patience with you.

The “Baseball Playground: Peanuts Dugout” is the fourth amusement zone of the small theme park. Like the name already indicates it’s a playground shaped or themed as baseball dugout. There are a few benches where parents you have a rest while the kids can jump and play around. Around the Baseball Playground there are lots of cute “Bone Bench” for visitors to have a rest.

Last but not least is the “Community Hall: Snoopy Wedding House” which is the sixth amusement zone of Snoopy’s World. In this Community Hall you could have a lovely, romantic and unique wedding (See our article ” Wedding in Snoopy’s World” to know more about the information).

Due to Hong Kong’s densely populated area this outdoor area is rather small (roughly about 40000 square feet), so don’t expect too much from this “theme park” in terms of size and area. However, fans of Snoopy, Woodstock, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Peppermint Patty and Linus will love this unique theme park. If you have kids or love Snoopy and the Peanuts it’s a great way to take some special photos with your favorite characters (there are approx. 60+ characters in the park). And even if you are not such a big fan, it’s a good way to take a break from shopping.

And the best thing: Snoopy’s World is for free (no admission or entrance fee)

Opening Hours: from 10am till 8pm (Mon-Sun).

The Bottomline: Is Snoopy’s World an absolute must-see? The answer certainly depends on if you are a big Peanuts fan. If you are, it’s a great opportunity to take some great photos with your favorite and lovely characters for memories. If you are staying in the New Territories or thinking about to do some shopping in the Sha Tin New Town Plaza Shopping Mall, it’s a nice reason to take a break. For all of you who are the first time visitors to Hong Kong, I would recommend you to focus on the real attractions in the more accessible tourist areas.
