Located in one of Tsim Sha Tsui most recent opened skyscraper iSquare you will find the Eyebar and Nanhai No. 1 restaurant on the 30th floor. The restaurant Nanhai No. 1 is named after a 15th century ship of Chinese explorer and has been recently awarded a one-star Michelin star (for more information about gourmet and Michelin star restaurants in Hong Kong please click the link).

The iSquare is located a little bit behind the famous Peninsula Hotel and adjacent to the Chungking Mansion building. One could think that the view should not be so impressive due to the fact that other bars, restaurants and hotels are in front of this new shopping complex and might block the view. In fact, this modern, marine-themed bar has one of the best views over Victoria Harbor and its impressive skyline due to its location on the 30th floor.

The interior is surprisingly spacious and you will feel immediately comfortable in the lounge-like settings with dim-light atmosphere. Guests can admire the pretty skyline through soaring floor-to-ceiling windows or if you like to dine outside on an outdoor alfresco rooftop terrace. Inside is a nicely and very long bar stretching from one side of the venue to the other. Due to the limited space in Hong Kong not a common feature in most of the bars. Although, the bar is very tempting to watch the performance of the bartenders and get in touch with locals, we highly recommend you to get a place in one of the comfy chairs on the outside deck to enjoy the marvelous and uninterrupted views of Victoria Harbor. Insider tip: there is also a telescope on the outdoor terrace.

The cocktail menu is extensive and exotic. We recommend trying the Grape Expectation for a HK$ 80 made with gin, lemongrass, fresh lemon, basil and taste of green grapes. Complemented along with your drinks you can sample spicy nuts and Sichuan peppered lotus root chips. A perfect combination to enjoy the lounge, club and electronic kind of music paired with the unrivaled views of Hong Kong at night. The Eyebar hasn’t been on the radar of the major tabloids or magazines yet and is still handled as an insider tip among locals. Nonetheless, if you would like to enjoy the Symphony of Lights laser show or simply would like to have a window seat, we highly recommend calling in for reservation. Saying this, we have to give out a little warning: The Nanhai No. 1 as well as the Eyebar requires a minimum consumption charge of HK$ 500 per person if you would like to have one of the places with views.
