Similar to the Peninsula and Intercontinental Hotels, the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel is located at one of the best locations in Hong Kong. Located on the 18th floor of the Sheraton Hotel is one of the best bars on the Kowloon side: the Sky Lounge. The views from this bar and lounge are similar impressive as these of the Felix Bar or the Intercontinental Hotel. The Sky Lounge didn’t reach the “fame” of the Felix Bar, yet and can be considered as true insider tip. There are good chances that you walk in just a few minutes before 8:00pm and still get a window seat to enjoy the laser spectacle outside in Victoria Harbor.

Night View from Sky Lounge

Night View from Sky Lounge

The Sky Lounge can be considered as a bar in the typical sense. The interior of the Sky Lounge is modern paired with dim-lighting and comfy chairs and when you sit down in this bar and enjoy the impressive views of Victoria Harbor at night you might feel a little bit like Bill Murray in the movie “Lost in Translation”. This place is just great to kick-off a Friday night, enjoy the Symphony of Lights show at 8:00pm or simply stay there for a few hours enjoying the drinks, views and unique atmosphere. The Sky Lounge is one of the places where people come to be seen and impress.

Cocktails from Sky Lounge

The Sky Lounge features an extensive list of wines, cocktails and food on their menus. Depending in which mood you are you can choose Dim Sum Boxes, fruit platters, Thai inspired snacks or European style Cheese plates. The list of cocktails is long and varies from the classic cocktails such as screwdrivers to zodiac inspired cocktails. Prices for cocktails are reasonable and hover around HK$ 100. The only drawback is that the Sky Lounge has a minimum consumption charge per person (currently HK$ 150) which means you have to drink at least 2 cocktails.

Insider Tip: if it happens that you should go on your birthday to the Sky Lounge make sure to take your ID or Passport with you. As a birthday gift you will get one cocktail for free.

If this selection is not enough for you, you could check out the Oyster & Wine Bar which is located at the same floor. The Oyster & Wine Bar offers the same dramatic views of Victoria Harbor (make sure to ask for a table close to the window to enjoy the views while you eat and drink) and is considered as one of the best seafood places in Hong Kong. The Oyster & Wine Bar has a custom-designed “Oyster” Bar where you can sample a wide variety of oysters (25-30 different kinds) and seafood. In addition, this bar has one of the most extensive lists of wines in Hong Kong. If you are a wine lover, you should not miss out the opportunity to take a look at the Sky Lounge Wine-room. The Sky Lounge Wine-room has a selection of roughly 400 rare wines from around the world. There should be a wine for everyone’s taste.
