The 2014 China Construction Bank (CCB Asia) Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races (IDBR 2014) have a long history and started 38 years ago as a humble event when Hong Kong fishermen organized an international dragon boat event. In 1976, only ten teams (9 locals and one foreign team from Japan) participated in the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races. Since its humble beginnings the Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races grew rapidly over the years, featuring last year almost 200 teams with over 3,000 paddlers from 12 countries around the world. The CCB (Asia) Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races are very special since you can see both the Standard Dragon Boat as well as the Small Dragon Boat Races. Races will start close to the famous and internationally well-known InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong Hotel and finish near the Wing On Plaza.
