When does the 2024 Disneyland Chinese New Year celebrations take place?
Hong Kong Disneyland’s annual Chinese New Year celebrationsstarts from January 25 to February 25, 2024. The popular theme park attraction turns once again into a magical world full of traditional Chinese elements and lovely dragons.
In the past few years, the park was closed at designated days (due to the Covid-19 pandemic and local regulations). However, life in Hong Kong starts to resume back to normal again. This year, the theme park will be open every day (from January 18 to February 25, 2024) during the festive holidays.
How much is the entrance fee and where to buy tickets for the Disney “Magical Year After Year” Chinese New Year event?
Official ticket Prices for HKDL
The standard tickets (Tier 1) for Hong Kong Disneyland are starting at HK$ 639 for adults and HK$ 475 for children on the regular days. On the peak days, the prices go up to HK$ 879 for adults and HK$ 659 for children. The days around and during Chinese New Year (February 10 – 16, 2024) are all considered as “Tier 4” days.

Where to buy tickets of Hong Kong Disneyland?
Tickets can be purchased directly at the Main Entrance of Hong Kong Disneyland. You also can buy them at the Hong Kong Disneyland Ticket Express (located at the MTR Hong Kong station).
Alternatively, you can get tickets in advance from either Hong Kong Disneyland official website or the following discount provider. In addition, tickets are available at all Circle K convenience stores throughout the city.
Where to buy discounted tickets of Hong Kong Disneyland?
After several-year’s price rising, the entrance price of Disneyland gets very high. In fact, the last price adjustment just took place in late September 2023. It could be very high expense especially if you are travelling with family and kids. Besides entrance tickets, the restaurants in Disneyland are all relatively expensive. Highlights of 2024 Disneyland Chinese New Year celebrations
It is the Year of the Dragon. The whole theme park is beautiful decorated with Chinese New Year decorations to bring prosperity and good luck. Mickey and his friends wear special traditional CNY outfits to ring in the Year of the Dragon. Besides that the park also have several new shows such as e.g. “Mickey’s Year of the Dragon celebrations” New Year performance. However, the highlight this year is definitely the Live Concert by Lang Lang. So, let’s take a closer look.
Disney Classic Live in Concert presents Lang Lang
To celebrate Chinese New Year in style, Hong Kong Disneyland has a special treat for everyone who loves music. No one else than the famous and world-class pianist Lang Lang will ring in the Year of the Dragon with a special live concert. Make sure to mark down the date. This one-of-a-kind performance takes place at 7:30 pm to 8:15pm on January 27, 2024.
The Disney Classic Live in Concert presents Lang Lang will take you on a unforgettable musical journey. Lang Lang and a string quartet will perform some classic Disney hits and melodies on stage of the Castle of Magical Dreams. The Live Concert also includes stunning visual effects, projection mapping and storytelling. Classic hits include e.g. Can you feel the love tonight (Lion King), Let it go (Frozen) and It’s a small world.
Besides that beloved Disney characters will join Lang Lang on stage. Look out for Mickey Mouse, Elsa (from Frozen), Miguel (from Coco), Belle and Beast (from Beauty and the Beast) to bring the live concert to a complete new level.
If you would like to enjoy this special Lang Lang Live Concert, you need to purchase special seating passes. Tickets are available for HKD 980 (Standard Seating Area Pass) and HKD 1,480 (VIP Searing Area Pass).
In case you are interested to watch this one-of-a-kind live concert with Lang Lang, you should act fast. Tickets are available from January 3, 2024 onwards. But don’t wait too long. There is a high chance that they will sell out quickly.
Meet Mickey and Friends during Chinese New Year
One highlight during the Lunar New Year season is that you can meet Mickey and Friends throughout the park. Enjoy your favourite Disney characters in special traditional Chinese New Year costumes. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Chip’n’Dale wait for you to wish you good fortune and happiness.
