The Hong Kong Sevens 2014 is one of the biggest rugby events on the international sporting calendar and not only Hong Kong rugby fans have been anticipating this special annual sporting event. From March 28 to 30, 2014 Hong Kong will be home to the world’s top rugby teams. The Hong Kong Stadium in Causeway Bay will be the epicenter during these three days packed with lightning fast unforgettable 15 minutes rugby matches. Over 40,000 fans will literally transform the Hong Kong Stadium into one big party with a carnival like atmosphere with fans dressing up, painting their faces to support their favorite rugby team while pretty girls wearing bikini and cheering for their teams.
The Hong Kong Sevens 2014 will have 28 participating teams and 70 matches and Hong Kong will retain its status as the largest tournament on the Hong Kong Sevens World Series (HSBC SWS). In addition, the Hong Kong Sevens 2014 will host a 16th team in the main event this year as well as a 12-team international qualifier tournament.
Where to buy tickets for the Hong Kong Sevens 2014?
Similar to previous years, the Hong Kong Sevens 2014 tickets have been assigned to all Hong Kong Football Union member clubs and HKRFU stakeholders. The rest of the Hong Kong Sevens 2014 tickets are available through various Official Travel Agents or –since Hong Kong’s airline company Cathay Pacific is one of the main sponsors – through special Cathay Pacific ‘Fly’n’See Packages’ (for more information about these special packages please check Cathay Pacific’s homepage). In addition, Hong Kong residents had a chance to get their tickets through a Public Ticket Ballot with ticket prices ranging from HK$ 200 (Friday matches) to HK$ 650 (weekend matches).
