What is BT21 and LINE FRIENDS?

LINE FRIENDS is an instant messenger app similar to WhatsApp and WeChat. It is very popular in Hong Kong as well as some Asian countries. The gang of the cute cartoon characters includes Cony, Brown, Moon, Sally, Boss and James. They have been produced into a whole set of merchandise products and Hong Kong has several physical LINE FRIENDS stores where you can find them.

However, even you are familiar with LINE FRIENDS, you may not be familiar or have not heard about BT21. BT21 is collaboration with the messenger app LINE FRIENDS and popular South Korean Boyband BTS. It is the very first project to form and create new characters for the LINE FRIENDS series. Obviously, the new characters are based on the members of the BTS boyband group. 2018 Christmas exhibition revolves around a cute space theme at the UG2 Level of The ONE shopping mall. Every single member of the newly created BT21 characters is featured in a very special way.

The centre piece is a cosmic heart-shaped space station. Here you find three of the BT21 characters and take some cute selfies and photos.

The yellow figure on the left is the passionate puppy CHIMMY. He is standing in front of an interstellar map. I guess his favourite planet is the heart-shaped one.

The white figure in the middle is the kind and polite alpaca RJ. You easily can identify him because he always wears a parka (he gets cold easily).

TATA is the heart shaped one on the right, who is very curious about everything. It seems that he is using the telescope to explore the universe. Maybe he is just stargazing or is he looking out for Santa Claus?

COOKY is the cute pink bunny. He is the captain flying in a spaceship or UFO. Maybe it is his job this year to distribute gifts at Christmas Eve with Santa Claus together.

MANG, the masked dancing little pony, is standing next to a space rocket. Did you notice that the cute little pony has a heart-shaped nose?

The cute little lazy Koala KOYA is sitting in front of the Christmas Tree. Although he looks sleepy and lazy, he is smart and actually thinking. Probably, he has figured out his Christmas gifts already.

BT21 MEETS The ONE Winter Fantastic Universe Christmas Games and Gifts

Another highlight is the Space Capsule BT21 Switching Machine. Space robot VAN is guarding this special toy capsule machine. If you are The ONE Club member and download The ONE APP, you can participate in a game and win one of the BT21 MEETS The ONE X’mas Ornaments for free. The special limited edition BT21 X’mas Ornaments are limited to 3,500 piece on a first-come-first-served basis.

Just next to the Space Capsule Machine you can find SHOOKY. The yummy cookie is a magic one with special powers. Step inside the special photo booth and create some unique Christmas greetings with your favourite BT21 characters. The BT21 Photo Lab is for free for The ONE Facebook page followers.

Along with the exhibition, there is also a BT21 popup store for some souvenir shopping. The Pop-Up Store is located at the ground floor of the Open Piazza in The ONE.

The BT21 Pop-Up Store opens 10:00am – 10:00pm from November 10 to December 21, 2018. From December 22, 2018 to January 1, 2019 the store opens until 11:00pm.
