Comic fans and cartoon lovers have been long waiting for the opening of Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars. On September 28th, 2012, the 100-meter long path was officially opened and it is expected that the Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars become a new tourist attraction in a short period of time.

Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui

Avenue of Comic Stars is a 100-meter long street with famous local comic character figures on both sides (Phase 1). Currently, there are 24 painted figurines (some of them 3 meters high). 6 other figures will be added in phase 2 project.

Besides comics figures, Avenue of Comic Stars also has 10 bronze handprints. Similar to the Avenue of Stars, visitors have the chance to clap their hands on the handprints of local comic artists such as Dr. Tony Wong or Mr. Ma Wing-shing.

Other Activities

Aside from the figures and handprints, visitors have a chance to learn more about the production process, tools, manuscripts and workshops as well as the history of (Hong Kong’s) comics at the Gallery of Comic Education. In addition, interactive workshops will be held and for those who would love to know more about Hong Kong’s Comic guided tours will be offered in English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
