2017 Rilakkuma Christmas Town at The ONE

The festive holiday season is approaching. Hong Kong is already getting into the spirit of Christmas and most of the shopping malls have set up their special Xmas decorations, such as the “Star Wars: The Last Jedi decoration in apm“. Now you will find a cutest 2017 Rilakkuma Christmas Town at The ONE shopping mall this Christmas season. If you are a big fan of Rilakkuma, you may wanna check out the Windsor Rilakkuma Snowy Palace Christmas exhibition.

In case you are not familiar with the cute cub, Rilakkuma actually is the combination of Japanese “Relax” and “Bear”, so it is translated to “relaxbear” in some regions such as China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Before 2016 there were only three characters: Rilakkuma (リラックマ), Korilakkuma (コリラックマ) and Kiiroitori (キイロイトリ). Rilakkuma is the brown bear who likes pancakes and being lazy. Korilakkuma is the white bear who is like a little naughty child. The yellow chick is Kiiroitori, who is smarter and always remind others of their mistakes. In 2016, a new member Chairoikoguma (チャイロイコグマ), friend of Korilakkuma joined this group. Chairoikoguma looks a little bit like Rilakkuma, but his fur is darker, chest hair is bushy and when he opens his mouth you can see some fangs. Their cuteness and sweetness have made them very popular in Asia.

2017 Rilakkuma Christmas Town at The ONE

So, are you ready to celebrate the upcoming holidays with the famous Japanese cartoon bear Rilakkuma? Then head over and take a closer look at the exhibition of 2017 Rilakkuma Christmas Town at The ONE.

What can you expect from this Christmas exhibition? The main Christmas decoration is located on UG 2 Atrium Level of The ONE shopping mall. Once you arrive, you will notice a giant Christmas cake on the right-hand side. It’s a very special cake. On top of the cake is a Christmas tree. Furthermore, each layer has one of the cute Rilakkuma character as a decoration. For the first time, you also can take some pictures with Chairoikoguma.

The center of 2017 Rilakkuma Christmas Town at the ONE is a special designed Rilakkuma Bear House. In the front of it are several life-size statues, Korilakkuma, Kiiroitori and of course Rilakkuma. In addition, there is also a giant plush Rilakkuma bear to take some cute selfies.

Rilakkuma Candy Store

On the left you will find a special Christmas market style Rilakkuma Candy Store. Cute little chicken Kiiroitori is sitting on some sweet candy. Make sure to take a closer look inside. All the decoration, candy, macarons, and packaging are designed as one of the characters. Furthermore, you can find Kiiroitori cookies, Rilakkuma macarons and Korilakkuma Christmas stockings.

Take Sweet Memory Home with Rilakkuma

Just next to Rilakkuma Candy Store is another highlight of the exhibition. Inside is a special couch and Rilakkuma bear waiting for you to sit don next to him and take some pictures. In addition, you can take an augmented reality (AR) video with Rilakkuma and his friends.

There is even more. Make sure to stop outside the shopping mall. There is also a small exhibition on the open piazza on the ground floor. Rilakkuma and his friends are waiting in a Christmas forest.

THE ONE x Rilakkuma Christmas Town Pop-Up Store

In case you are looking for some special Christmas gifts. There is a small Rilakkuma Christmas Town Pop-Up Store on Level 2. The pop-up store opens usually around 12:00 (noon) to 9:00pm. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday they open from 11:00 am to 10:00pm.
