Rugby Fans and Cosplay Party
Last year’s event saw over 40,000 fans. You can be sure that the Hong Kong Stadium will be transformed into one big party with a carnival atmosphere. Dressed-up fans with painted faced come to support their favorite rugby team while pretty girls wearing bikini and cheering for their teams.
Aside from the lightning fast and unforgettable 15 minutes rugby matches, you are able to experience and enjoy some famous international superstars. Past events saw superstars such as the Beach Boys, Queen Extravaganza or the Village People. In order to celebrate its 40th anniversary, the Hong Kong Sevens invited no one else than famous singer and actor David Hasselhoff to be one of the headliners and highlights of the event. You probably remember “The Hoff” (as fans call him) from the 1980s and 1990s TV show Knight Rider and Baywatch. Or younger generation knows him from America’s Got Talent show as he is one of the judges. During his peak time, the Guinness Book World Records named him the “Most Watched TV Star in the world”.
Aside from “The Hoff”, you have the chance to experience the Kick-off concert by the Scottish Band “The Proclaimers”. Most of you probably remember their smash hit “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” released from their album Sunshine on Leith in 1988.
Last but not least, the ABBA tribute band Björn Again is performing at this world-class sport event as well. The Hong Kong Sevens Kick-Off Concert is held from 5pm to 11pm on April 6, 2016.
