On October 6, 2013 the New World Harbour Race 2013 will take place at Hong Kong’s famous Victoria Harbour. This swimming event is one of Hong Kong’s most unique and iconic sporting events of the year with a long history and tradition. The Cross-Habour Race was revived after a 33-year absence in 2011 and became an immediate success story and received the “M” Mark Events support for the 2013 event (please read our related article for some insights and impressions of last year’s event).

Swimmers and swimming enthusiasts eagerly have been awaiting the 2013 edition of the New World Habour Race event. Due to the popularity of this event, the quota of participating swimmers has been raised from 1,800 to 2,000 this year as well as special leisure group element has been included to provide swimming enthusiasts an opportunity to participate at this special race across Victoria Harbour.

Spectators can enjoy 6 individual races and events and cheer for their favorite swimmer on the 1.5km race across Victoria Harbour. Last year’s winner Ling Tin Yu and Natasha Tang Wing Yun crossed the Victoria Harbour with respective times of 16:57 and 17:21.

When and where does the New World Habour Race 2013 takes places?

The New World Habour Race 2013 will start at 8:30am on October 6th, 2013. The cross-harbour race will start at Lei Yue Mun Sam Ka Tsuen Public Pier and will finish at the Quarry Bay Park Public Pier this year (near the Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery).
