In recent months, the eastern part of Hong Kong Island experiences an upswing. Restaurants, shops and bars opened up and try to attract guests from the usual party and shopping zones around Central, Causeway Bay and Wan Chai.

Situated around Quarry Bay, the SUGAR Bar and lounge is little bit off the normal party tracks and for many party-goers in Hong Kong a little bit inconveniently located (approx. 20 minutes from Central by taxi). The SUGAR bar is located on the 32nd floor of the business hotel EAST. The design of the bar can be described as ultra-modern and stylish or to keep it short: a perfect balance of modernity and class, but still with a casual touch. The slinky rooftop bar interior is held in wooden, beige, sandy and white tones and colors. Ottomans and couches invite guests to sit back, relax and enjoy music, drinks and of course the impressive views.

Talking about the views: the SUGAR bar provides sweeping panoramic views of Hong Kong. The views are not the typical postcard views of Hong Kong. Nonetheless, they are utterly impressive and breath-taking. Believe us; you will get to know Hong Kong from a new, but different angle and may be fall in love with the eastern part of Hong Kong Island. You are able to enjoy views of Kwun Tong, Quarry Bay to the North Point skyline and even Tai Tam Country Park. For some people this is may be not as spectacular as the Bank of China tower, ICC or IFC buildings at night, but we still love this bar with its cool outdoor deck and breathtaking uninterrupted views of Hong Kong.

The SUGAR bar features a nice list of wine and cocktails. To give you some kind of idea how much you have to spend for a glass of wine you should calculate about HK$ 80-95. The cocktail prices range between HK$ 95-105. We highly recommend trying the Summer Signature Cocktail Piscine for HK$ 105 with Crème de Cassis, prosecco and red berries or the Eastern Summer Punch for HK$ 105 with Stolichnaya Vodka, lemon, peach, mint, pineapple chunks and prosecco. In addition, the SUGAR bar also provides a fine list of snack platters for everyone’s taste.
