What is the Hong Kong WinterFest 2023?

The WinterFest is an annual event organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. The whole city participate. You will find sparkling and heartwarming Christmas decorations across the town.

Besides, East Tsim Sha Tsui every year will light up the main buildings for Christmas and New Year celebrations. This tradition has been kept for over 40 years. The lighting buildings include Empire Centre, New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel, InterContinental Grand Standford Hong Kong, Kowloon Shangri-La, Regal Kowloon Hotel, South Seas Centre, The Royal Garden Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui Centre, and Wing On Plaza.

Highlights of Hong Kong WinterFest 2023

The majority of Hong Kong WinterFest 2023 events take place at the West Kowloon Cultural District.

Christmas Town and giant Christmas Tree

The West Kowloon Art Park transforms into a magical Christmas Town this year. The Christmas town is built around a giant 20-metre-tall Christmas tree. Expect beautiful decorated Christmas trees, festive ornaments and illuminated reindeers. Needless to say that there are plenty of photo opportunities. So, make sure to take your camera or cellphone with you. The giant sparkling Christmas tree is always one of the selfie hotspots.

Winter Harbourfront Fireworks

This winter holiday season gets even more magical and special. For the first time, Hong Kong will celebrate Christmas with fireworks display.

On selected days (December 9, 10, 16, 17, 23-26), you can enjoy a special firework show. Having said that the show takes place along the West Kowloon Harbourfront promenade. The 10-minutes firework show starts at 8:00pm. It is one of the major highlights of this year’s WinterFest celebration. If you know Hong Kong’s firework shows, you definitely don’t want to miss out.
