It was just a question of time when Hong Kong’s popular theme park attraction Ocean Park would increase their ticket prices after the recent price adjustment of Hong Kong Disneyland last year.

Effective from January 1, 2015 visitors and fans of Hong Kong Ocean Park have to coupe with higher ticket prices. Ticket prices for the general daytime admission will increase on average 11%.

Ocean Park’s last price increase dates back to September 2013 and reasons for the current ticket price adjustment are related with an increase in operational costs as well as planed and upgraded park attractions and facilities (Ocean Park plans to open up a new attraction this year called Adventures in Australia, redeveloping Whiskers Harbour by 2016 as well as open the Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel and Tai Shue Wan Waterpark by 2017).

Adult tickets are now priced at HK$ 345 (was HK$320) whereas admission fees for children (aged 3 – 11) are increased to HK$ 173 (was HK$ 160). Seniors as well as children (aged below 3 years) can still visit the theme park for free.

The Ocean Park SmartFun Annual Passes (Gold as well as Silver) are not affected by this price adjustment and remain unchanged.

Similar Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park decided to offer a set of special offers for local residents to compensate for the recent ticket increase. For a period of 4 months (until April 30, 2015), Hong Kong residents can enjoy the old ticket prices.
