The Chinese New Year 2018 is approaching. Hong Kong is ready and welcomes this festival with various Chinese New Year celebrations. Restaurants, stores, malls and companies launch special promotions during this festive seasons and spring festival. Hong Kong MTR is no exception. In order to celebrate the Year of the Dog, Hong KOng MTR Corporation launches a special limited edition 2018 Year of the Dog MTR Limited Souvenir Ticket Set. Similar to last year’s special edition, the “Year of the Dog” Souvenir Ticket Set features the artwork of two famous artists from the East and West.

The 2018 “Year of the Dog” MTR Limited Souvenir Ticket Set
The special limited edition MTR souvenir ticket sets have two designs. British contemporary painter Catriona Hall designed the Western part of the “Year of the Dog” Souvenir Ticket Set. The commemorative ticket features a unique Dalmatian in an edgy western style.
The Eastern part features an artwork from the Qing Dynasty. Famous Chinese painter Shen Quan showcases the elegant litter of dogs. Both tickets represent the “Year of the Dog” blending traditional Chinese art with contemporary western style. Similar to other aspects of Hong Kong life, these tickets bring together past and present as well as Eastern and Western culture and are a great souvenir to take home.

When is the 2018 Year of the Dog MTR Limited Souvenir Ticket Set available?
The limited edition “Year of the Dog” Souvenir Ticket Set goes on sale on January 28th, 2018 at price HK$ 85.
In addition, the MTR also launches a special designed “Year of the Dog” vacuum bottle. So, you can take brew your lucky tea and take it with you. The limited edition Year of the Dog vacuum bottle is also available from January 28, 2018 onwards and is priced at HK$ 110.
Maybe you think that’s it. But the best part is yet to come. Each limited “Year of the Dog” Souvenir Ticket is valid for unlimited rides on the MTR on the first day of the Year of the Dog on February 16th, 2018. Except Airport Express, East Rail Line First Class as well as journeys to or from Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau and Racecourse stations.
