Hong Kong New Year Countdown Concert 2022
The 2022 New Year’s Eve Countdown celebration will be different from previous years. For the first time ever, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) organises the New Year Countdown Concert 2022. It will substitute the traditional fireworks display New Year Countdown event.
2021 Hong Kong New Year Countdown Concert
The concert starts around 10:00pm and features some of the city hottest entertainment acts. Popular Canto-pop boyband MIRROR, AGA, Alfred Hui and Gin Lee will perform live on stage. In addition, you can enjoy live performances by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
The countdown concert is held at the park of the newly opened M+ Museum at the West Kowloon Cultural District. The façade of the M+ Museum will transform to a giant screen with a clock counting down to midnight.
How to get tickets and attend the New Year Countdown Concert 2022?
The only way to get tickets for the New Year Countdown Concert is to participate at a lucky draw. The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) will be raffling away 3,000 free tickets. You can enter the raffle only online between November 15 – 24, 2021.
During the 10-day period you can register only once. In order to enter the raffle you need to fulfil certain requirements. These requirements are e.g. full name, phone number, HKID and the confirmation that you have received full vaccination of the COVID-19 vaccines in Hong Kong. The winners of the lucky draw will be announced on December 3, 2021. In case you don’t belong to the lucky winners or are unable to attend, you don’t need to worry. It is planned to live-stream the New Year Countdown Concert 2022.

In case you don’t win the lucky draw or you are not interested in the concert, you may consider to visit one of the shopping malls with gorgeous decorations and displays. Most of them starts from the mid of November 2021 and extend to the beginning of 2022 (January 2).
Or visit one of the interesting Xmas and New Year Markets and Fairs. This year’s market covers from handcrafts, ornaments, healthcare items, food to arts. You shall find something to your taste.
