And on top of all, this year’s WinterFest edition has something special. In fact, you can enjoy not only one, but several fireworks shows during the WinterFest 2024. Best way to enjoy light installations: Make sure to take a stroll along Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront promenade. Since most of the skyscrapers are on Hong Kong Island, it is one of the best location to enjoy the changes of Hong Kong’s skyline during the festive season.
Besides, East Tsim Sha Tsui every year will light up the main buildings for Christmas and New Year celebrations. This tradition has been kept for over 40 years. The lighting buildings include Empire Centre, New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel, InterContinental Grand Standford Hong Kong, Kowloon Shangri-La, Regal Kowloon Hotel, South Seas Centre, The Royal Garden Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui Centre, and Wing On Plaza.
This year the East TST Xmas illumination will last between 6:00pm till 11:00pm starting from November 28 2024 to January 2, 2025. It is one of the most popular locations for enjoying glittering illuminations. After the New Year, the light installation will switch to the theme of Chinese New Year immediately.

The majority of Hong Kong WinterFest 2024 events take place at the West Kowloon Cultural District.

Christmas Town and giant Christmas Tree
The West Kowloon Art Park transforms into a magical Christmas Town this year. The Christmas town is built around a giant 20-metre-tall Christmas tree. Expect beautiful decorated Christmas trees, festive ornaments and illuminated reindeers. Needless to say that there are plenty of photo opportunities. So, make sure to take your camera or cellphone with you. The giant sparkling Christmas tree is always one of the selfie hotspots.
The Christmas Town starts to switch on their sparkling lights around 5:00pm. The Christmas Tree light projections start around 6:00pm. The light projections are showing every hour and at 30 minutes past the hour. So, get you cameras and cellphones ready to snap some memorable pics.

Winter Harbourfront Fireworks
This winter holiday season gets even more magical and special. Like last year, Hong Kong will celebrate Christmas with fireworks display.
On selected days (November 22 and December 24-26), you can enjoy a special pyrotechnics and firework show. Having said that the show takes place along the West Kowloon Harbourfront promenade. The 10-minutes firework show starts at 7:30pm on November 22 and at 8:00pm on December 24-26, 2024. It is one of the major highlights of this year’s WinterFest celebration. If you know Hong Kong’s firework shows, you definitely don’t want to miss out.
