Finally the cute Kumamon Pop-up Store openend in YATA (Tseun Wan) today (June 28 2013). As a Japanese department store, YATA already has three stores in Hong Kong, which are in Shatin, Tai Po and San Po Kong. Today it opened the new store in Tseun Wan Plaza along with the Kumamon Pop-up Store.
You can recognize Tseun Wan Plaza from a far distance because it was decorated with huge Kumamon bears.

Even inside was decorated with the cute Kumamon bear. The pop-up store is on the L4.

He was much more popular than he thought. It finally turned to be a little bit chaos today. Before the shop officially opened, there was a Autograph Session. Kumamon came out to sign the name and take photos with people. You see that I didn’t beat the bear fans. I had to stand on the second floor to take a look at him.

It took me a super long time to wait for this picture cuz people were jumping in and out of camera continuously.

At the moment the store finally opened, people rushed to the shelves and grabbed the goods crazily. It reminds me of the movie “Hunger Game”. If you have watched that, you will understand what I mean. Before I managed to get closer to the shelves, everything was gone.
Most of goods were sold out literally immediately and the staff said the new stock will arrive the beginning of July.
