Hong Kong’s popular Ocean Park attractions prepares for their annual Christmas Sensation HOHOHO event. The 2024 Ocean Park Christmas celebrations takes place from December 7, 2024 to January 1, 2025. This year, you can expect a very special holiday experience.

Aside from the giant Christmas tree and crystal snowflakes decorations, Ocean Park celebrates the arrival of its latest family members. The whole city is getting crazy about the new pair of Pandas.

In fact, many of the Christmas decorations and light installations throughout the city feature the cute Pandas this year. Since it will be their first Christmas in Hong Kong, Ocean Park arrange a special Panda-themed Christmas and holiday season. Highlights of 2024 Ocean Park Hong Kong Christmas celebrations

This year’s Ocean Park Christmas Sensation HOHOHO event has something for everyone. You can enjoy e.g. festival decorations, installations and watch magic shows and performances. Having said that, one of the major highlights during the festive season will be the celebration of the arrival of the two new Pandas.

Besides, no matter if you love roller coaster rides, family friendly attractions, musical theatre, play fun games or love to encounter animals, Ocean Park Hong Kong has it covered.

So, let’s take a look at some of the major xmas highlights this year.

“An An” and “Ke Ke” first Christmas

Prepare for a very special Christmas treat this year. The two new Pandas will appear for the first time on December 8, 2024 at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Sichuan Treasures attractions. There is no doubt, that they will become the new superstars in Ocean Park.

Admission time: 00, 15, 30, 45 minutes every hour (10 minutes per session)

Panda Wonders: An illuminated journey

Ocean Park brings you a very unique and sparkling Christmas event this year. The second phase of their special Christmas celebrations kicks-off from December 21, 2024 onwards.

This festive season is – you guessed it – all about Pandas. The Panda Wonders: An illuminated journey takes you on a magical and fantastic journey. Expect interactive installations, 3D projections, cute panda cartoons, giant inflatable pandas, Augmented Reality (AR) and special light, laser and multi sensory event. Besides the cuteness factors of the cute little pandas, you can explore and learn more about these enigmatic animals.

Follow the panda paws and immerse yourself in a one-of-a-kind journey. Stunning 3D projections await you at the Bamboo Oasis. At the Blossom Flowerscape you can experience interactive installations and cute cartoon pandas.

One highlight of the Panda Wonders: An illuminated journey attraction is the Panda Light Spectrum. Experience the spectrum of colours from the cute panda white and black to dazzling multitude of colours.

Bamboo Embrace

The Panda craze starts already at the entrance of Ocean Park. The area has been transformed into a bamboo wonderland. Cute cartoon versions of the giant pandas welcome you and invite you to get enchanted and mesmerised by their cuteness.

Giant Panda Pals

One of the major highlights will be the over 5-meter-tall inflatable Giant Panda Pals statue featuring An An and Ke Ke. Make sure to get your phone or camera ready. This special crossover appearance will be of the hotspots to snap some memorable picture.

Panda Photo Mania

Ocean Park teamed up with famous curator S.K. Lam from the creative Studio AllRightsReserved. In case you are not familiar with S.K. Lam, his art projects include e.g. the collaboration with KAWS (inflatable sculpture) or Florentijn Hofman (floating Rubberduck).

Around Waterfront Plaza there are several photo spots where you can find plenty of panda creations. So, get your camera and cellphone ready.

Panda Laser Delight

Ocean Park’s Brick Hill will change to “Panda Hill” at night. In order to welcome the two new giant pandas An An and Ke Ke, cute cartoon pandas will be laser projected onto the Park’s signature hill for a limited time. Don’t miss the opportunity to snap a pic with the unique Panda Hill.

Gala of Lights – Winter Celebration

The multimedia Gala of Lights show will debut with a special new festive Winter theme this year. The popular highly light, laser and music show will feature Christmas-themed image projections, stunning water screens and fountains and spectacular blazing flames.

Panda Claus Tree

The Christmas Tree in Ocean Park is always one of the hotspots to take some memorable Christmas pictures with the whole family and friends. Since this Christmas revolves everything around the arrival of the two new pandas, you can expect a very special Xmas tree.

The 6-meter-tall Christmas Tree transforms this year to a giant Panda Claus Tree. Located at the Waterfront Plaza, the Christmas Tree is decorated and themed with cute pandas. Make sure not miss this special and gorgeous Christmas tree.

Meet Santa Claus

Head over to the Waterfront Plaza. Here you meet Santa Claus and take some memorable pictures with him. Since Finnair is the official airline partner of Ocean Park this year, Santa Claus is flying in from Finland on selected days.

Every evening 6:30pm, the Christmas Alley (market) and Christmas tree will turn on their lights. If you visit on the selected dates, Santa Claus will surprise visitors with many holiday gifts. Everyday, Ocean Park’s adorable mascot Whiskers will also come out in the holiday dress and take photos with the fans.

Jingle All The Way

The theme park has invited different local groups to bring everyone a variety of performances this year. Christmas carols, live music performances, dances and many more will add more festive atmosphere to the park.

Winter Dance Party

If you love music, dancing and party head to the Summit area. The male dance group Jingle Bell Rock showcases their latest moves while the Sweet Melody Groove girl group gets you in the mood for Christmas.

Christmas themed food, snacks and dishes

How can you visit the theme park during festival season without trying themed food? As usual, the restaurants at Ocean Park will add and offer special Christmas menus, snacks and desserts.

Club Panda has prepared a Sparkling Christmas dinner buffet with over 35 delicacies. The buffet dinner is available on Dec 24 – 26, 2024. Price is HK$ 738 for adults/seniors and HK$ 368 for children.

Furthermore, Ginger Grill and Tuxedos Restaurant offers a special Christmas snack platter. These feature e.g. Cream Cheese Chicken Sandwich Roll, Thai Style Deep-fried Fish Toast, Deep-fried minced Shrimp Cake and New York Cheese Cake.

Special Giant Panda Holiday Souvenirs

Ocean Park launches a series of special giant panda holiday souvenirs. These special souvenirs are only available at the theme park.

Highlights of the Giant Panda souvenirs are e.g. Gingerbread Man Panda Shoulder Bag, Panda with Gingerbread Man Shoulder Plush, Panda Headband/Bopper and many more.

But wait. There is more to come. In order to celebrate the cute Panda Cubs 100 Days, Ocean Park launches a series of special souvenirs. Ocean Park teamed up with Studio 7 Days to launch a special Christmas panda vase series.

The series includes cute Panda Le Le with a Christmas Present, the cute little brother in a Christmas Tree Costume and his elder sister in Gift Box. So, if you are a Panda fan, make sure not miss the opportunity to get some unique collector items.

Christmas Game Booths

Ocean Park has plenty of game booths to have fun and win amazing prizes. This year, you can expect a wide range of holiday-themed plush toys. To commemorate the Giant Panda Twin Cubs 100 Days Celebration a special limited edition Ocean Park Annual Membership Card is launched. The limited edition membership card is available from December 1, 2024 and allow unlimited access to the Park for a year.
