Collecting MTR Lunar New Year Commemorative Ticket Set is an annual tradition for many locals. Hong Kong is getting ready to welcome the Chinese New Year 2019 – “Year of the Pig”.

The special limited edition 2019 Year of the Pig MTR Limited Souvenir Ticket Set is to celebrate the arrival of Chinese New Year. Similar to last year’s special edition, this year’s Ticket Set features the artwork of two famous artists from the East and West.

2019 “Year of the Pig” MTR Lunar New Year Commemorative Ticket Set
The special limited edition MTR Pig Year ticket sets have two designs and portray different versions of pigs. The Western part of the “Year of the Pig” MTR Souvenir Ticket Set is designed by Scottish contemporary illustrator Kate McLelland. The commemorative ticket features a cute little piglet in a contemporary western style.
The Eastern part features an artwork from famous painter and calligrapher Wong Ka. His interpretation feature a gentle and kind pig. Both tickets represent the “Year of the Pig” blending traditional Chinese art with contemporary western style. Similar to other aspects of Hong Kong life, these tickets bring together past and present as well as Eastern and Western culture and are a great souvenir to take home.
Besides two special designed tickets, this set also includes a specially designed ticket holder and 8 cute Origami pig red packets.

In addition, the MTR also launches a special designed “Year of the Pig” Glazed Ceramic Piggy Bank. Now, you can save money in a cute little coin bank and get some auspicious luck throughout the year. The limited-edition Year of the Pig coin bank is also available from January 20, 2019 onwards and is priced at HK$ 60.

Each limited “Year of the Pig” Souvenir Ticket is valid for unlimited rides on the MTR on the first day of the Year of the Pig on February 5th, 2019. Except Airport Express, East Rail Line First Class as well as journeys to or from Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau and Racecourse stations.
